Fraudulent Charge from Valu Pass

After I had ordered something online from Walmart.com (this part was fine) my cell phone number wound up on somebody else's list, some telemarketer attached to a concern called Valu Pass. When the themarketer called me they told that I was entitled to some offer for $100. I usually know better than to not hang up at this point, but this day I listened and was talked into letting them send me for $4.95 a "trial" for some vouchers that I could use in several department stores. When the vouchers came in the mail I realized that the "vouchers" were only for shipping charges if I ordered by mail again, which I rarely do. They sent me a second trial membership in something else having to do with traveling, which I had specifically declined. Upon receiving these I called to cancel at once, and insisted that they cancel everything and not try to charge my account again.

Several weeks later, a charge came through on my debit card for $4.95, which I more or less expected but not that it took them so long to put it through. I did not tell the bank to dispute the charge at that time, but lo and behold there was a $24.95 charge in another month, which represented the monthly charge for a membership if I had not cancelled it. Although the bank will supposedly give me a credit for that amount but would not let me put the dispute into the system until the charge actually cleared.

Do not accept any "offers" from Valu Pass. They never deliver what they told you in the first place and they keep trying to charge your card even if you cancel it in plenty of time.
