Etsy and their seller falls short

All my transactions through etsy had been positive until most recently. I made a purchase and the seller never sent the product. I attempted to contact the seller to no avail. I then opened a 'case' with etsy. They 'elevated' my case within the same day. The seller then contacted me. I presume because etsy contacted her. She explained that there had been some serious person medical issues and apologized. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to make it right. I only agreed if certain things were agreed upon. Example: exact date item was to be sent out, tracking number, priority ship. The seller indicated that the item would be sent the following day as agreed. Still nothing. So I notify the seller that I no longer am willing to work w her as she has failed to follow through the second time. I notify etsy of what has happened and request a refund. Now, etsy is the one that is not responding. I had to open a dispute with my credit card company. I understand that sellers may have poor business practices but I would not expect these kinds of business ethics from Etsy. Greatly disappointed as I expected much more from a company and site like Etsy. Don't expect for the website to support legitimate customers and hold scrupulous sellers accountable.
