On Oct. 8 I received a recorded message that I had a collect phone call from a friend in Texas. After I accepted the call, all I got was a dial tone. He called back and the same thing happened again. I did not talk to him either time, but OAN Services billed me $6.86 for a one minute "Operator Assist" collect call. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone and talked to four different people before I finally got a supervisor who said she would credit the full amount back but that it would take 30-60 days to show up on my phone bill. When I called my phone company and asked what would happen if I did not pay this charge, they said it would stay on my bill and accrue late charges, so I had no choice but to pay it and hope that I actually get the credit that was promised by OAN.
