I was contacted by NRA, the caller did not identify herself and simply said "We came across your resume online and would like to have you come in for an interview". Naturally, I asked questions and was told that NRA is staffing firm that helps the unemployed find placement. I asked how the firm is compensated for their efforts and was told that the hiring employer pays a fee. I stated clearly that I am not interested in any fee based service and would only be willing to discuss their services further if either there is no cost to me or there is not a fee until I am placed. She re-stated that the employer pays the fee.
I went on the first appointment and was treated as if I was an unqualified applicant. The representative that I met with explained that my resume is all wrong and needs alot of work (although my resume was designed and written by a professional placement service offered through the employer that laid me off).
