Need You Now Equine run by Tracey Thompson near Ottawa, Ontario, out of Quebec. She attends at auctions and makes deals with feed lot and auction owners to sell the horses before they go to auction. She advertises them as rescues and that they WILL go for meat and MUST be saved now! We are not certain how money changes hands with regard to the animals or if there is any money taken by Tracey and are not suggesting she does profit from he actions. Our concern is that people are made to believe that the horses are in desperate need of saving and need good homes but she does not require any background information from the buyers and just hands the horses over for the suggested amount of cash. This does not guarantee the horses safety!
This type of organization needs to be regulated and prospective buyers need to be screened. As time consuming as this will be, it may ensure the long term quality of life for the horse.
