I received a letter pre-sorted first class mail from these guys stating that they had been hired by the state of Oregon circuit courts stating I had an outstanding balance of unpaid costs, fees and fines ordered by the circuit court.
It listed the case number and I went to the circuit court website to check the validity of this letter.
In the section of the circuit court website it says "Scam Warning" in red.
As if that wasn't enough evidence that this alleged law firm was a scam, the letterhead on the letter I received states that the office is in Denver, Colorado but gives a PO box address in San Antonio, Texas.
So I went one step further and entered the supposed case number in the website's find my case section. Upon entering this I received a message bar that stated that there was no case matching or ever listed in the judicial system.
So I went one step further and contacted the Linn County circuit court and they said it was a very good thing that I did this.
They would never hire someone to do their collections like this.
