We got a "free" trial with emusic and I signed up with the full intention of canceling the membership as soon as I used the "free" money. I signed up, but I never received a welcome email. When I went to sign in again later that day, the site said I didn't have an account, so I assumed something happened and the account never went thru. And I honestly didn't think any more about it until 6 months later when I noted a charge from emusic in my PayPal account. I contacted emusic right away to get the issue figured out. I was not able to sign into an account, my email address was listed as not an account email and they couldn't find my account. So I emailed customer service and they tried to find my account but couldn't. After some detective work, they found it. Apparently I had entered a bad email address when I signed up. I was not told this at anytime and yes, it was my error, but I wasn't able to get into their website to verify the account, cancel the account, or even access an account. I stated that I wanted a refund of the money that had been charged to my account. Yes, the sign up error was mine, but since I never received a registration and confirmation email, then they were never authorized to create an account in my name and they certainly were not authorized to deduct money from my PayPal account! I question how the company could possibly be charging my account without me ever activating my account / completing the registration process? When I pointed this out to them, they don't have anything to say to that except that I am am not entitled to a refund no matter what since they say in their terms and conditions that they don't give refunds under any circumstances! Yes, it was my error, but how was I to know the company would continue to charge me every month when I didn't have an active account and I NEVER authorized them to charge my account, because I was never able to complete the membership enrollment??? They charge my account for 6 months without me noticing it. That too was my error, but I really didn't know there was an issue. This TOTALLY UNFAIR to the tune of $75!! I believe they broke the law by charging my account without me completing the registration process, therefore they never had authorization to charge my account! They sent me a message saying they are going to credit my account $25, but I have to be an active member to take advantage of this. I am not an active member because they use unfair business tactics and are breaking the law. This company charged a fee every month whether you use the services or not. The money in the account doesn't roll over at the end of the month, so I literally might just as well of burned $75 cash. I have nothing to show for it and emusic is wrong and a bad company! I am outraged at this! I believe this is a criminal act.
