StubHub is a Ripoff!

StubHub Sucks!

Beware, if you sell tickets on StubHub, you better do your homework first and then cross your fingers. I had purchased tickets on multiple occasions with no problem. My first experience selling on stubhub seemed to go very smoothly and seemed to work perfectly. Tickets sold on Friday night, event wasn’t until Sunday night, awesome. That is until two hours before the concert: order was cancelled by Stubhub. If you don’t know exactly what to do, explore other options or you’ll suffer the same nasty fate as me.

If you don’t want to mail the tickets, you can upload a PDF and deliver them electronically. BEWARE: The PDF file that you attach better be the PDF from the original seller! This is very unclear on their website. From their perspective, they feel they’re totally fine with how they conduct business, but for a regular Joe, you get screwed. I sold two tickets to Coldplay concert in Washington DC on Sunday, July 8th. I created and uploaded a PDF file, as stated on the website by the only way I knew. I scanned the tickets as a PDF file, not as a jpeg or text, and uploaded them. Little did I know they meant they wanted me to upload a file that I never even had received from ticketmaster. The thought never crossed my mind! My assumption was that they would use the bar code on my tickets to cancel the tickets in my possession and reissue a new set of tickets to the customer. That way I wouldn't be able to sell them multiple times or use them, and the buyer has confidence that the tickets they are buying are valid, right? Do you think they would have some type of check on their end to ensure they received the proper documentation they are expecting? No, they waited until two hours before the concert to leave me a voicemail that they cancelled the order. WTF! I was blind-sided and the tickets went to waste! I didn't even get the message until the next morning when I looked at my phone. They need to implement a procedure to fix problems before they happen if they are going to be so unclear on what they want. I’m sure there is a software available that can validate the information they receive. The kicker is that they charged ME for cancelling the order and not understanding their unclear language on the website. That takes some balls! They graciously took the charge off of my credit card for, in my opinion, their error. I feel like they need to make it right with the customer. This was an honest "mistake" at worst, on my part and now I’m out $195, which is a lot of money to me.

I’ll bet this happens a lot, but they didn’t really care because it’s no sweat off their back. What happened to the Fan Guarantee?
