Baron'a Management is dishonest. (Their management company has NOTHING to do with the tribe). When employed, they give you classes to take, PEP Rally's... They will do everything they can so you don't bring a UNION on property. They want control of everything. They brainwash you with a "Step into the Magic" class... Promising you you can buy a house, get your MBA through Barona.
They do not promote from within. They worked me until I couldn't handle it anymore. They put me on salary, and had me working 60-70 hours a week in Food and Beverage Dept. They kept promising a raise to $36,000, and extra time off. Nothing.
After a year, and having the most seniority I requested Christmas off. They made me close Christmas eve, and open at 6:00am Christmas morning. The manager of the Dept. Gave herself the holiday off.
She was a new manager they brought from Fudrukkers who can't speak English nor spell anything correctly. (so much for promoting within). She was brought in, made me work this holiday for her. After 2 weeks in her position, she fired me. No reason, you are an "at-will" employee. They fired the whole management team I worked with and brought in people from the outside.
I am complaining because I was promised a raise, extra paid time off, and a promotion. After a year I got nothing, and was fired by new management.
If you go to work for Barona— do not give them your life. Do not work 12 hour days SAY NO and that you will bring in the UNION. If they promise you a raise - DEMAND it. Do not be brainwashed that they are the best company to work for. It is a casino, a dirty run business. Stay far far away from Food and Beverage Dept. Especially. Many upper Executives do not have any education, and include high school drop outs. It is a very unprofessional company.
I have written to my boss asking to be paid, after being fired (for no reason) for my extra shifts I work and they have not responded.
