My husband has often accompanied me to the Barona casino. He is not really a gambler like me, but sometimes he will eat next to me and play a little. Yesterday, we were playing at the "Celebration" slots and he had just finished the money he had played when what I can best describe as a "middle-aged troll of the female variety" wanted my husband to move so she could play. He didn't want to, and I asked him if he wanted more money to keep playing, but the woman told him "Oh, I'll get someone to make you move, just watch!" She came back with a Barona employee who appeared to be sneering during the entire scenario. I told the lady her behaviour was extremely rude. She wouldn't look at me but said something like "Oh well" and just started playing without a care in the world and without acknowledging her actions or that we even existed. After this, I had the casino delete my membership and told them not to send me any more mailings. I also wrote a complaint directly to the casino. I believe that, even though I have always been a loyal Baron patron, that my husband was picked on (as I was) because of age discrimination. Just because we are younger the other patrons and the casino think we can be pushed around, yet we have more class and manners than the average person who goes to that casino. I would also like to note another incident wherein we were eating dinner at the Sage Cafe and a group of people next to us were shouting profanities and spitting on the floor. Watching them spit out long strands of spit and sputum made me lose my appetite, so we complained. It was later that we learned they were actually Barona Indians, although at the time we didn't know as they had short hair and could have been Latin or Pacific Islanders for all I know. Even the waitress complained about them because of their behaviours. Because of the fact that we complained about the Barona indians spitting on the floor in a restaurant, my husband was blacklisted by the tribal members from obtaining a job at the casino, even though he is a Native American.
