Like others before me who have filed complaints against this company, I wish to more educate others on doing ANY BUSINESS with this so-called Modeling place. I am more than familiar with JC from previous, when they had an office in Grand Rapids, MI, many years ago. They had to close up shop after only two short years due too many sketchy business fall-outs, which ranged from overbookings, unpaid models/talent, and a couple of lawsuits, including from actual local clients.
Around summer I received an Email from their Detroit area office, Canton, regarding a model "call" in the Grand Rapids area, for what they stated as "searching for outer talent", or outsourcing for perhaps their 2nd or 3rd party affiliates (???) Well, I attended this "model call". It was held at an area Holiday Inn, of course. I even brought along the professional modeling portfolio and actor headshots I already had. The lady Rep barely glanced through those and responded with an insincere plause at my already established work. She then questioned who my model pics and actor headshots were through. As if she'd be familiar with anyone in Grand Rapids! Well, I humored her by sharing briefly about my then-agency, including the two photographers. She seemed duely unimpressed, even boldly criticized my pictures, insisting they were not industry-rate, and that I wouldn't find any work with THEIR clients.
She even remarked on my actor headshots, insisting THEIR photographers could do better! When I told her I'd already done some impressive field work in films and TV, she barely blinked an eye. Better still, she proceeded to hand me a handout sheet and a brochure of their "agency services" should I ever consider their representation. She then took liberty of showing me some Modeling card and headshot samples of THEIR established "talent". There was no comparison! They were so far-off amateur, they were 3rd rate! Who the heck was she kidding?! Certainly not me! I even boldly, yet politely told her what I thought of the "sample" cards. She merely smiled and repeated, if I ever changed my mind, I had the brochure to look them up...
Whatever. They'll never get MY money, OR my representation. Don't do business with them. They are scammers.
