Misty Renai PR (a.K.A. Misty Horton) RIP OFF ALERT: Misty Renai (aka Misty Horton) is a scam artist and a fraud

Misty Renai never paid for the sponsorship she agreed on writing until now for a celebrity event held on October 29 in Hollywood, CA. She agreed on sponsoring the event together with Avenue Accents (San Clemente, CA) owned by Karen Goonewardena. Karen already paid to Misty with proof of a cleared check.

Misty claimed she has the money BUT had numerous excuses why the money cannot be forwarded, delivered, wired, transfered, and couriered to me. Please read below the facts proven by email and text messages:

1. October 15, Claimant (Jovy) emailed the Defendant (Misty) a confirmation of their sponsorship agreement of $2,400 for an event that was held on October 29 at O-BAR in West Hollywood.in the same email, Jovy also requested to have the payment mailed out immediately to his mailing address clearly written out in the body of the message.

2. October 20, Misty emailed Jovy a message asking him if she should mail a copy of her talent's video (to be included in the event's video loop) to the same address she mailed the payment to. Hence, at this point, Misty claimed she mailed out the payment already.

3. October 23, Jovy informed Misty of an additional charge of $100 for graphic design fees for MistyRenaiPR.com and Avenue Accents' logos. Misty agreed on paying the charge.

4. October 24, Jovy has not received the check. Jovy emailed Misty requesting a copy of the cashier's check payment (allegedly mailed out on or before October 20) as proof of payment. Misty committed to fax a copy the next day.

5. October 26, Jovy didn't get the fax copy of the cashier's check. He made follow ups with Misty via emails, calls, and texts.

6. October 27, Jovy (worried and has not heard from Misty) attempted to collect via Paypal.com. Misty replied to Jovy's Paypal invoice claiming that she has been busy and the letter with the cashier's check payment has been returned by the post office since she forgot to put the city, state, and zip. Misty requested to mail the said check overnight instead. I replied immediately instructing her to Fedex it overnight.

7. October 27. With regards to the fax copy of the cashier's check, Misty claimed via email that she tried to fax a copy of the cashier's check to Jovy. Note: Jovy owns an internet' fax carrier that receives multiple faxes all at the same time. Hence, it should never be busy.

8. October 28, Misty emailed Jovy to advise him on a UPS tracking # of the cashier's check that was mailed out later that day. Misty informs Jovy that he will surely receive the check the next day. Jovy called UPS immediately to track the mail. UPS informed Jovy that the tracking # is invalid. It is missing a digit. Jovy emailed and text messaged Misty to verify the tracking # she just advised.

9. October 29, on the day of the event, Jovy didn't receive the package as advised by Misty. Jovy didn't get a valid tracking # from Misty. Jovy, frustrated at this point, emailed Misty to follow up. Misty replied with just an apology about the delay and still no valid tracking # was advised.

10. October 30, Jovy didn't receive any mail from UPS and a valid tracking # from Misty. Jovy made follow ups with Misty. Misty replied that the check wasn't mailed out at all since her cousin didn't drop it off at UPS as she instructed her to do so. Jovy then clearly instructed Misty via email and text messages that she has to do a Paypal payment instead at this point (or a Bank of America transfer or deposit vs. Wire). Misty decides that she will wire the money instead. However, Jovy instructed Misty not to wire but to make a Paypal payment instead due to the urgency at this point. The payment is overdue.

11. October 31, Misty emailed Jovy to advice him that she processed a payment instead via Paypal e-check to clear on November 5 as per Paypal.

12. November 5, Jovy checked his Paypal account and was surprised to see the date of clearing moved from November 5 to November 19. Jovy called Paypal to verify. As per Paypal, the reason for the change of clearing date was possibly due to having no sufficient funds (NSF) in the checking account of the payer, Misty Renai (a.K. A Misty Horton). Jovy immediately advised Misty of the situation. Jovy told Misty that she has to make a deposit at a nearest Bank of America instead at this point. Misty claims that she's not near a Bank of America branch that she offered to wire the money instead that day. Jovy with utmost patience took the offer. Jovy text messaged Misty to ask for a wiring transaction # or instruction details.

13. November 6, Misty text messaged Jovy with supposedly a wiring or tracking #. Jovy was provided Misty's Bank Name: Suntrust and the last 4 digits of Misty's account # 6277. Jovy immediately called Suntrust. Jovy finds out from Suntrust that there should be a wiring or tracking # if a wire was processed. Jovy also finds out that there was not wire processed or instructed by a Misty Renai (a.K. A Misty Horton). Jovy called his bank to check if there's money coming in. His bank confirmed none. Jovy immediately called, emailed, and text messaged Misty of the issue and demanded that she should just simply come out clean and pay up or her co-sponsor has to be re-billed and be made aware of the situation since the monies are coming from both of them. Note: Misty had expressed many times (starting in the middle of this collection process) not to bring this payment issue up with her co-sponsor, Karen of Avenue Accents for client relation' reasons.

14. November 8, Jovy decided to re-bill the sponsorship via email to Karen of Avenue Accents and making her aware of the situation.

15. November 10, Jovy received a call from Karen. Karen left a voicemail regarding how shock she was to hear that Jovy hasn't been paid. Karen also stated that she overnight the money (as payment for the sponsorship) to Misty weeks ago. Karen claimed that she has a copy of the check that cleared. Even with the check sent to Misty, Karen said that Misty tried to use her credit card information to pay for a Paypal invoice that Jovy sent. Karen said that Misty requested for her credit card details and social security # to track the overnight delivery of the money she did weeks ago. Jovy emailed Karen to tell her to just work it out between her and Misty and have a payment made for services already rendered no later than November 13. Jovy also told Karen in writing via the same email that a late / inconvenience fee will be applied to the invoice if paid after November 13. At this point, Jovy warned Karen (cc'd Misty) via emails and text messages that he may be forced to talk to a legal expert or lawyer if neither of them make a payment.

16. November 12, Jovy called Karen to follow up with her decision and if she had spoken to Misty. Karen said that she's waiting for Misty to call her and has not decided what to do with my bill regarding the sponsorship until she speaks with Misty.

17. November 14, Jovy received an email from Paypal advising him of a failed payment by Misty Renai. This is in regards to the payment that failed to clear on November 5. Paypal also advised him that the payment cannot be processed from the sender's account (Misty Renai's). Paypal has cancelled the said transaction and advised Jovy to reach the sender (Misty Renai) to make new payment arrangements. Jovy copied Karen and Misty of the said email. Misty replied that she is not happy about Jovy copying Karen of the email and demanded Jovy to stop discussing this payment issue with Karen.

POINTS TO CONSIDER:
1. During this collection process, not once did Misty pick up Jovy's call nor called him back when asked to. Jovy received replies only via email and text messaging with Misty. Misty claims that her phone has been down the whole time and until now. But according to her talents, and clients, Misty has managed to call them back.

2. Jovy produced an event that turned out to be a success that proves he rendered the services committed to the sponsors. Contributors, charity, participants, and even the sponsors, namely, Misty Renai and Avenue Accents were promoted successfully to media and potential clients as agreed.
