DVDs Go Missing, Manager's Attitude "Sorry For Your Luck" ripoff

Ok where do I begin. Let's just say to start with that at this moment, Blockbuster WILL NEVER get my business again. After what their supposed "Customer Care" folks have done for me, not to mention what the store on 1945 Scottsville Rd here in Bowling Green, KY did to me, I have every right to be HOT! At what you say. Ok here it goes.

I mistakenly dropped off four (4), yes that's FOUR DVDs at the store on 1945 Scottsville Rd, that belonged to Hollywood Video. Not realizing my mistake until later in the month when I went to rent some DVDs at Hollywood, they told me I still had four DVDs out. I thought. That's not right. So after searching my home, car, etc. I could not locate they DVDs. So I thought Hmmmm did I drop them off at Blockbuster by accident?

So, I called the Blockbuster on 1945 Scottsville Rd, which is the one I use to go to and spoke with a manager named "Prince William". Thats right Prince William. He was able to immediately find two of the four DVDs and stated he could not find the other two. Told me to call back the next day. I went "in person" the next day, to the store and met with "Prince William" the manager. He told me he would call the other store to see if they might have been taken there.

I called back the next day and he told me that he could not locate the DVDs and couldn't remeber having seen them in the first place. He had a "sorry for your luck" attitude. Is this how Blocbuster does business? Franchise or not, this store carries "YOUR NAME"!

How is it that he could find two of the four DVDs right away and not the other two, when I dropped off ALL FOUR at the same time. Sounds like someone in that store has sticky fingers! Why, if this happens, could your stores not contact the other video store, advise them they have some DVDs that were turned in at the wrong place, find out who the customer is and CALL THEM to let them know that the DVDs were left there by accident? I think this would be the "customer friendly" thing to do. DON"T YOU? But Noooooo they didnt' do that. God for Bid this store should take a few minutes of it's time and contact a customer to let them know something like this happened. Now I am out $30.00 because I had to pay for the two missing DVDs. That's not right! This store should have stepped up to the plate and contacted me!

So, my next step was to contact their supposed "Customer Care", which has turned out to be a "Customer Care Joke". I called on the 20th of February to file a complaint. They told me it would be 3 to 5 business days before I would be contacted, as the complaint had to be forwarded to the "Franchise" dept. Well on the 5th of March and I still have not heard anything from anyone at Blockbuster. So I called again. Waited over five minutes on hold, was hung up on and had to call back again. Only to have the represenative tell me, yes I see you filed a complaint and we did forward it to our "Franchise' complaint department.

So I asked the rep, "What's the status". He stated "I don't know. We can't look at the information, so I can't tell you". Then I asked for a phone number to contact this supposed "Franchise Complaint Dept.", the rep says..."Sorry but we dont' have a phone number for customers to call the "Franchise Complaint Dept." What the heck is up with that??? Franchise or not, you should be able to provide a customer with updates on their complaint.in the mean time, it would be nice for Blockbuster to reimburse me the $30.00 it owes me and go collect it from that Franchise.

Oh one more thing it's the 9th of March now. I still have not received any calls from Blockbuster.

So beware. If you accidently drop off DVDs, (at this Blockbuster store, or any other Blockbuster) that belong to another video store, you may not ever see them again!
