I recently purchased movie tickets through Fandango, an online movie ticket service. As a result I was honored with Rewards Reservations freebies. With the promise of coupons, discounts etc, I signed up but never gave them a credit card number. While reviewing our statement, my wife noticed a $10.00 charge from WLI Reservation Rewards.
I immediately called thier 800 number and aske what the deal was. I was told that the credit card information was "inherited" from the Fandango Movie tickets transaction and that the $10.00 was the membership fee. They agreed to refund the charge and cancel the membership.
The disturbing part is they never said "This will cost $10.00", and sharing my charge card info? Had I been made aware of membership fee of $10.00 the session would have ended there and To not have been prompted for my card number? Both of these companies are greedy pigs.
