I live in the state of Virginia, Fairfax County. I have five (5) credit cards judgment against me and those judgments have been attached to my real estate and I cannot sell my real estate until those judgments are cleared. I was told by Eskovitz, Lazarus & Pitrelli, P.L.L.C who is the Title Company handling the sale of the town house that once an unsecured/credit cards judgment is entered in Fairfax County Courts it is no longer an unsecured credit cards debt. It is attached to real estate. I asked what if the person do not have any real estate and was told the judgment stay on book for 20 years and could be longer. I want to know if this is correct? I am unemployed and I am sure the proceeds from the sale of the town house want be enough to setttle the unsecured/credit cards debt. The amount is is over $104,000. Thank you for any suggestions. I do not have funds to pay a lawyer.
