To whom it may concern;
I am at a loss as to why our water bill keeps skyrocketing! For the last 4 years, only my wife and I are in living at our home in Kempsville%u2014family visits us every other summer. We have well water for our garden, a rain barrel, and we our quite conservative with our water use. However, none of these conservation steps lower our water bill.
I recently noticed grass and weeds around our city water shut off valve which has the meter. This tells me that no one has really actually lifted it up to look in there to get a proper reading. Are we being lumped into a water use averaging system in our neighborhood? I hope this is not the case, but I believe it is.in other words, are attempts to conserve water becomes nil%u2014especially if neighbors are not concerned about saving water and energy.
Could you please clarify this for me? Are we being placed into a neighborhood water use average? If so, why should we try so diligently to conserve our water.
