I called Ardent Property Managment to inform them that due to unexpectant life changes that I am forced to break my lease... I contacted the leasing manager and informed her of my situation, she stated that she had to forward my information to corporate for a lease buyout request, and that TC would contact me with the information. TC called me, and immediately began to bager me, asking multiple questions such as what did I do for a living, and why was I a lazy looser who refused to get a job... I stated to him that my doctor ordered me not to work due to my high risk pregnancy and TC stated that was a poor excuse and that pregnant woman work everyday... Regardless after 5 minutes of verbal and emotional abuse he finally gave me my buyout price... 60 days of rent $1,462.00 and $1,000.00 lease breaker fee for a total of $2,462.00... Never once mentioned a deduction for my $800.00 security deposit that they are holding... Nor the fact that $25.00 a month of that charge is a pet fee for a dog that will not be living there during that period of time... What is most disturbing is that I have been a ON TIME PAYING TENANT FOR 2 YEARS, and all I want to do is move out and take care of my responsiblity to my landlord (and I am a poor excuse of a woman for that)... I am verbally threaten that I better pay before the money is not even due yet!!! TC had the nerve to tell me that I better pay him!!! RENTERS BEWARE WHAT LOOKS GOOD ON THE OUTSIDE ISN'T ALWAYS GOOD ON THE INSIDE... Ardent is not customer friendly... Do not break a lease with this company... If you do they will threaten your life before you can even write the last check! Make sure you get a signed receipt of keys when you move out... And take plenty of pics... Somebody has to stand up to this bully of an attorney...
