Veterinarian DX: cat misdiagnosed -cat had FORLS - dental disease, vet negligent and caused the demise of my pet

I noticed small black, round, pinpoint spots on my cat's lower, outer lip. Out of the clear blue, he started hiding under my bed. He would sneeze occasionally, then started to drool excessively. I decided these symptoms validating a visit to the vet.

Took him to vet, close by and to vet that was voted in "D Magazine" as "best vet". Hmmm. Let me tell you, because of his ignorance, in current medical feline knowledge, my cat's health deteriorated. I had to put him to sleep...

Initially I took my pet to vet for the black pinpoint spots on his chin, Vet said, "he's got pimples, that's all". He then attempted to "squeeze the spot" to expel the contents. Of course, that was unsuccessful.

My cat started displaying difficulty in eating. He would lick the roof of his mouth as if "peanut butter" was on there. He would purr and excessively "drool". He even lost his voice.

I, again took him to the same vet. I complained about my pet's inability to eat and the pain he displayed, while attempting to eat. Vet, ignored my complaints and said, he's got a little tartar and "he's drooling is nothing". He's showing that he loves you. He then took a tool and attempted to "yank off tartar". I had to leave the examining room, as my pet vocalized his pain. I returned to find my pet paralyzed in fear and pain AND a deep gash in his jaw. My cat was developing periodontal disease, which should of and could of been prevented.

My cat was brought in several times afterwards, with concern of loosing weight and inability to eat because of mouth pain. I, in disbelief, took my cat to a friends doctor. He too, did not have the acquired knowledge, that only a dentist would. He too, confirmed my cat had no dental issues. Both doctors did not properly examine my cat. They did not have the proper equipment to do so, nor the knowledge of dental disease. I can state these facts now, but at the time of diagnosis, I only could trust.

I did my research and informed vet about what I had read. The staff, informed me that researching on the internet was dangerous and not to believe what "was out there"..

My cat was deteriorated right before my eyes, his weight lose was significant. A friend at work, which I had just met, informed me about my vet. Her husband had practiced with him, and witnessed the same vet kick a sick dog after being bitten. The dog died.

Her husband referred me to another vet. I was impressed. He agreed with me, that my pet's source of pain was in his mouth. But only after spending a couple hundred dollars on antibiotics. He performed surgery on my cat. He is 13. He extracted 3 teeth. Before, I made an appt with new vet, I asked if they had x-ray equipment used to determine dental cleaning and extractions. I was told yes. Because, I did not ask again about x-rays, none were taken. Three teeth were extracted, only because cavities were seen, visually. 2 days after surgery, I called vet and asked about the possibility of not cleaning teeth well enough, and his behavior, and inability to eat. Again, new vet prescribed medications. And when I took my cat back, because of my concern. This was 4-5 days after surgery, the attending vet, claimed mouth was healing perfectly and cat' display of discomfort must of been because of "perhaps food lodged within the hole the tooth was pulled from".

I forgot this major issue... Before I settled on this particular vet, I took my cat to a cat hospital. Vet there, agreed that my cat had irritation is mouth and sent me and cat home with "baytril injections". I administered 2 injections before researching this drug. Baytril in felines can cause blindness and anyone administering this drug must be warned of this potential. If symptoms occur, if aware, they can be reversed. Vet, never said a word and furthermore refused to return my phone calls after repeating calling. Thus, I had to seek out yet another vet. She abandoned my cat. It's called "patient abandonment".

Fact is thus, research. Don't believe diagnosis from doctor, just because he is a doctor. If I had not been adamant about my findings, I believe NONE of them would of concluded the findings and diagnosis which I found. My findings were correct. I am not a doctor. There is something REAL WRONG HERE
