Since I was out of town, I sent, in the mail, Laura Parker a $1,900 cashiers check to hold a rental property that I had viewed before leaving town; she told me it would serve as a $1600 damage deposit and a pet deposit of $300. However, a day later I found out I did not need to move after all because my current landlady decided not to sell the house I had been renting from her for the past twelve years. Therefore, I immediately called Laura Parker to let her know I would not be renting the property. I have called her everyday for the past week and she has not returned my phone calls or the cashiers check for $1,900. I have only a P.O. Box and her phone number. As a teacher with a daughter starting college in the fall I cannot afford to lose this amount of money. It is sad indeed.
