The Landings at Maxwell are a huge rip off. We have been here 6 months and we have had to be out of our home that is being condemned next year for 2 weeks. We have had over 15 service calls and 2 floods and 1 gas leak later, I've had enough. They state that you live close and are safe. The AF has sold out its service members for the sake of "saving money".
Honestly, I'm paying my BAH of 1,700 for a 1,500 square foot house. This is a horrible place to live when it comes to the housing. They argue that we are paying this exorbitant amount to pay for future houses for AF members. Please, they are going to make a huge amount of money over the years by people paying rent. The only benefit we have had is our neighbors who are extremely nice. The houses they show on the website are the big one's for Lt Col and Col's.
Although they are responsive to problems, it is never ending. We thought it would get better for our friends who are staying on next year. They are only staying because their children get to go to school free because they are on base. What a ripoff to have to stay on base housing when it's such a racket that the Landings have a monopoly because you cannot stay anywhere else. You should get a 2,500 square foot house for 1,500 in Prattville and commute!!!
