Last summer a nurse came to inform the managers and the people that was sorting clothes that she had mistakenly dropped off some scrubs that were infected with Hepatitis. And infact it was very contageous and it was a possibility that someone else could be infected by the clothes. The people that worked in the back sorting clothes were the ones who could have been infected when they came into contact with these clothes.
The nurse informed the manager that they were in white bags, and the people that worked in back went through numberous "White Bags" throughout the day. Both of the people had a faint recollection about dealing with a bag with scrubs in it. Goodwill refused to let the people get Hepatitis shots to protect themselves and their familys and said they were not needed. Although the managers and the truck driver and also the utility worker had thoses shots to protect theirselves but for the sorters that came in contact with many different bodily fluids were not allowed to have these shots unless they wanted to pay for them their selves.
A complaint was filed with OSHA and the company lied to OSHA in their report back to them in reguards to the situation with the scrubs and the hepatitis. NO further action was taken by OSHA and Goodwill made sure that it was covered up. Yet in still they never let the people in the back get the shots that could have protected themselves and their family from Any contageous diseases such as hepatitis. Hows that for a Community oriented store, and a company that claims help better lives through their organization
