Ex-deputy arrested on drug charge

A former Blount County Sheriffs Department corporal, who was supervisor of the Blount County K-9 Unit, was arrested on a charge of obtaining drugs by fraud on Tuesday.
Angela Beth Thompson, 34, Dixon Road, Maryville, was arrested by the 5th Judicial Drug Task Force at 8:40 P.M. Tuesday on a charge of obtaining drugs by fraud.
Blount County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Marian OBriant confirmed the arrest and said Thompson was a deputy at the sheriffs office for many years.
Thompson was named Officer of the Year in 2002 and received a law enforcement award in 2006 from the Red Cross. Thompson was the handler of K-9 Zeny, a female Belgian Malinois that is trained to detect explosives.
OBriant said Thompson had resigned from the sheriffs office on Nov. 6 and cited personal reasons in her letter of resignation.
The investigation by the drug task force is ongoing, and OBriant said she could not release any details on the case at this time.
Thompson was free from the Blount County Jail at 9:10 P.M. Tuesday on a $1,000 bond pending a 1:30 P.M. Nov. 21 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.

What the artcile does not state is that Angie is actually the daughter of Townsend Police Chief Ron "Spanky" Suttles who is a known liar, crook and deralict.
Angie's husband, BCSO's deputy Matt Thompson also has a problem living by the laws that he is sworn to uphold.
Both Chief Spanky and Matt Thompson have been mentioned by me in other reports on this website. You may have to do an extended search in order to find them.
I guess this is just one more of Sheriff's Jimbo's "... Well-trained, professionals" doing whatever they want because they think they are above the law.
You can't tell me that Angie wasn't tipped off by the drug task force as to what was getting ready to come down. You can't tell me that Sheriff berrong or another supervisor didn't come to her and tell her that she needed to resign in order to make the BCSO look a little better. Perhaps the article should have been titled: "Recently Resigned Deputy Arrested On Drug Charges."
This whole situation just makes Sheriff Jimbo look even worse and he deserves it. Did I ever tell you folks that his mother is a Lambert and their family is involved in other corrupt government and the development industry? LOL
This all boils down to just one more situation in Blount County government where the nuts are running the nuthouse.
Actually a better metaphor would be that the TURDS ARE RUNNING THE S*T-HOUSE!
