My son a college student at FSU was renting at this apt complex for two years.in order to prepare for moving out I helped him to paint his apt, and to have a professional rug cleaner come in to clean the rug. I did a walk through with him and so did one other parent. One roommate was not present it was someone assigned to my son and his roommates from this office, this person did not come and did not clean up their personal room. The office maintenance staff planted items that were in this person's room into the common area and charged per items outrageous fees.
They did not inform up front any schedule of fees for say garage so they made up the fees.in addition as I mentioned the common area was cleaned up and nothing absolutely nothing was left behind (Except the non common area from the 4th room mate.) So we had two parents and three students as witness to the cleanliness of the apt.
They are trying to to say they had an animal in the apt, the maintenance staff planted a dog dish in the kitchen there was no pet in this apt. They are trying to blame these students for things already in the apt before they moved in such as a towel rack, I asked them how many students have they charged for this rack, how would a student know it is not supposed to be there if it is on the wall.
They are trying to blame him for a defective sprinkler which he could not possibly touch or see, it is silly things and then again they are trying to over charge all the students, they already kept the down payment as move out costs but they want more. These owners management companies are totally and positively unprofessional, conduct illegal actions against innocent students, and again plant items in common areas in order to charge them.
For furnished items they charge them for false things such as a refrigerator or a stove. They are again totally out of line. They tried and are still trying to get an additional 104 from my son.
They never advertised a list of costs and they make them up as they go.
They need to be on the rip off report they do not operate in an ethical manner and students need to be warned not to live in this complex. They need to be reported to a State Attorney General in the state of Florida.
