Kennebunk Police Department in Kennebunk, Maine and equally responsible is the Town of Kennebunk Maine, specifically Chief of Police Mathew Baker and Town Manager Barry Tibbetts. Certain employees have discovered that the town is monitoring all their e-mails and computer activities. No big deal, right? Lots of companies do that. It gets worse.
One person's workstation has been tampered with to the extent that the employee's office was re-keyed during the night shift. The workstation there crashed. It was later discovered that so much spyware was placed on this employee's worstation ONLY (none other in the whole Town network) that it caused the computer to crash.
The Town's IT person let it slip to the target employee that the Town is looking for a way to fire the employee, and to start looking for a new job as it is only a matter of time before the Town plants some improper or unauthorized material on the workstation as a means of demonstrating misconduct by this employee. The IT stated: "They're the Kennebunk Police. They can do whatever they want. They don't have to follow the rules or the laws".
