Change of due date for phone bill

I was told the due date could not be changed because they arrange it according to phone numbers. I get paid only once a month, the first of each month. I do the best i can. I am also filing for bankruptcy. If i cannot get my due date changed to the first to fifth of the month, my bill will always be late. This is the only company i have dealt with that does this. It's ludicrous. If this continues, i will wait until my contracts are finished and i will have to go with another company. We have been with verizon for many years. They also said i could not make payment arrangements because of previous returned checks. As i said, i do the best i can. This is not deliberate. When people have some serious personal problems, this happens. What's wrong with making payments with cash? I would appreciate a response as soon as possible. Thank you for your time.
