I was using aol for my internet service provider. I called them one day because I was having a problem with it. Well they helped me and asked me if i wanted to hear their promontional offers, i said no and hung up the phone.
One year later, I got time to look over my bank statement and I found two withdrawls I had no idea what they were so I called the numbers on them and found out they got my credit card number from aol and sign me up for a membership with the companies. I then called aol and they said they said they didn't give my credit card number to them.
They have took over $500 dollars over this past year and I dont know if i am going to get all the money back. They never even e-mailed me to let me know about the memberships or anything else.
I am 65 years old trying to take care of my dying husband. He has been having cancer for over a year and a half. I dont have time to spend money for stupid stuff on the web.
