I took my car in to get an oil change at the Town Oil and Lube located on Woodward in Rochester, Mi. As my oil was being drained, I overheard the guy down below say he'd never seen such clean oil. I paid the guy for my oil change and mentioned that I'd overheard the guy below say he'd never seen such clean oil and that I thought it was kind of odd, as I was 1000 miles overdue, for my 3000 mile oil change. I started to leave the garage. My car was lurching and acting very strange as I was pulling out. I never left the parking lot and was afraid to drive home. I went back inside and told them something was really wrong with my car. My car was driving fine when I pulled into the oil place. The man on duty admitted the guy in the "pits" accidentally drained my transmission fluid. They told me they didn't have the right transmission fluid for my car. Then went on the computer and found out my car could take their universal transmission fluid. He told me they topped it off and I should be ok now. I left with my car still acting up and drove very slowly home. I called AAA and had it towed to the dealer in Ferndale, to be sure it was ok. I had to ride in the tow truck per company policy and have my sister come and pick me up. I missed a day of work because I had no car. The dealer called and told me my car was 4 quarts low on transmission fluid and I had too much oil in it, as well. I had to pay $143.84 to the dealer. They found nothing else wrong with my car. I called the Town Oil and Lube and spoke to the manager, explaining what had happened. He said he would talk to the owner and call me back. I waited and waited for a call and decided to call him back myself. The manager said they would give me $80 worth of coupons. I told him that was not acceptable. I said I want to talk to the owner. He gave me his number and I called him. The owner said he had to speak with the guy who drained my oil and that "he had heard another story." I told him the guy admitted what had happened and wrote it down on my bill. The owner insisted he had to talk to the guy who did it and would call me back tomorrow. I got a ride back to the dealer and picked up my car. I decided to take the 2 receipts into the owner and show him the Town Oil change bill and the bill from the dealer stating what was wrong with my car. The owner said he did not want to see it. That he had told me he would call me tomorrow. I tried to show him it says right here that they made a mistake and drained my transmission fluid, but, the owner refused to even look at it. I asked him "Don't you have insurance for when people make mistakes?" He claimed no he doesn't. I got very upset and said I had been coming there for years. I told him I felt he was being dishonest with me and that this was BS. I then said if I had to, I would take him to small claims court. He said, "go ahead." I told him I was very disappointed in human kind, to not own up to their wrong doing. He said, " I was going to call you tomorrow, but, now, just take me to small claims court." I left saying, " I will do just that. I will also let the newspapers know." Needless to say, I will never go back there again.
