I received a call on 8/30/04 from a Guardian guaranteeing my a credit card with a $2,000 limit if I paid $249.00. I asked the representative several times to ensure I understood correctly and he confirm that I was guaranteed a credit card with $2000 limit.
He told me the draft date needed to be set up for 9/15/04 and I would receive my card within 10 business days. I advised that I could set up a date for 10/15/04 and he said to just call back and they would change the date.
I called for over a week and never reached a live person. I left several messages and no one returned my call. But you can best believe $249 was deducted from my account on $249. After about 2 weeks, I finally got through just to have a rude representative tell me they had to pull my recording and give me a call back. I never received a callback.
Yesterday I received a package in the mail with all these coupons and a letter stating I would receive the card in another 25 days and that I needed to pay an additional $24.95 and that this was a pre-paid Master Card not a credit card.
This was flat out false advertisement and fraud. I have been calling the customer service number and attempting to find and address when I found another case just like this on the rip off report website. Please help us put a stop to these theives as they are toying with emotions and stealing our hard earned money. I want my $249 credited back to my account ASAP.
I am so upset I don't know what to do. I hear about things like this happening, but I never thought it would happen to me.
