I was contacted by a mann (sounded like an india accent) a few days after i recieved money from an online loan company who told me I was being sued and to call another number of a lawyer named Ronnie Cooper who would explain the charhges to me. I called the so called lawyer who then said his name was John Anderson who also had the same accent and he told me the loan company called his company to file 3 different federal fraud charges against me unless i paid back the $400. Right away interest free if I paid right then or they would notify my job and the local sherrif's dept. And have a warrant out for my arrest that day. Foolishly I believed the story since they must be professionals at these scams it was all well organized and well planned, they must do it for a living, so I drove to walgreens and bought a specific "Net Spend" Reloadable card and put the $400. On it and gave him the numbers and he said the case was closed and could now get a loan through him at anytime so I thought that was it. Well a few hours he called back wanting a copy fo the card and the reciept faxed to his office which I also did and then clarified the case was closed. I forgot to mention he had me keep him on the line on speaker phone through the whole process of going to the bank and then to walgreens, probally to make sure i didn't call anyone like my lawyer. Well, the next day i get another call from his so called boss who seemed pretty pissed off and very threatening saying they were going to continue to persue the charges because i now owed $699. And they would deposit the original $400. Back into my bank account I just had to do everything over again but give $699. This time and unless paid right then in the same manner the sheriff would be at my door but I told him i didn't have it but i would call someone on my other phone who did but i called my lawyer this time who told me the law and what they were doing was illegal unless they had mailed me a written statement first which I would have so many days to comply with so i got back on the line and asked him his name which he refused to give so I then told him I had just spoken to my lawyer and before I could tell him what my lawyer told me he hung up and needless to say no sherrif or police officers have showed up and no one has called my job about any of this and I haven't recieved any more calls from them. But I'm still out $400. And really wish i knew how to get it back and have the sheriff show up at the door's of these scam artists!
