BEWARE: Payday loan applications over the internet.
On 8/13 I received a call from 941-961-8518 (showed up "wireless call" on caller Id). The man had a heavy Indian accent and I could not understand most of what he was telling me. I had to question what he was saying several times, I did pick up that I was being sued for not paying back a loan.
I advised I did not have any outstanding loans and what "loan" he was talking about. After he rambled on I did catch he was calling from Excel Law Firm for Cashnet. I asked where it was and he advised it was through the internet. I advised him I know that I did not borrow any money, he called me a liar and gave me the last for digits of my social security number. He said he was transferring me to the "head lawyer" but call was lost. The "head lawyer" immediately called me back.
He also had a heavy Indian accent which I had a hard time understanding him.
What I did understand and what really scared me was that he had my full social security number and the names and telephone numbers of two of my sisters who I gave as references on an application for a payday loan (Which I never went through with) Big mistake to give all this information over the internet! He also had my bank account number!
The "Head Lawyer" called me a liar and advised that he was going to have me and my references arrested in the morning if I didn't pay up! He had my address and said they would be at my door tomorrow.
I told him I was not a XXX fool and I was going to have him arrested!
Dumb of me to give out this information over the internet& I am going to follow through with complaint to Attorney General's Office and call my bank!
I called the number back that they called from and I got a recording " Verizon number has been disconnected.
They need to be reported and stopped! Surely they can be traced by the Verizon numbers they have used? I have not been able to sleep as I am worried about all the information they have about me!
