Over 6 years ago, I was in a bad way, no job, broken marriage and two small children that I had custody of, to take care of. Wanting to be a responsible parent and provider, I looked for means to be able to support my family. So my ex "girl friend" suggested that I try truck driving school. I thought about it ands did some research, in retrospect, not enough. I called c-1 and they "seemed" reputable, I tried them out.
I stayed at thier "accomadations" the sleaze hotel. But I digress. I went on with the training, however, at home the ex was causing problems, concerning custody, etc. I let the school know and had to set out to try to fix he issues. I returned, and was preparing to take the drivers test that week. Once again, problems at home. The ex girlfriend and ex wife were plotting on me losing my kids, ambushing me with a court appearance that I knew nothing about til late that night, needless to say, I rushed home that night, arriving the next morning to scramble and make my court case to avoid losing my children.
Again, I informed the instructors and returned the day of testing. Only, being allowed to sit one week out, by contract, and knowing I could not return, I asked to test. And after some commotion and talking among themselves, they stated that they would allow me to take the test that day. I waited on the lady that was in charge of testing and assignment. I sat and waited... And waited... And waited. She never showed up, infact, she left without me knowing. Never Incorming me, or allowing me to test.
Returning home, I couldn't return being a single father, with no family or friends to help. I ended up on government assistance. Soon enough, they came after me, I couldn't repay, I had no prospects, depressed, I just couldnt handle it. I didn't know where to turn, or resources to fight, what I see now as a breached contract. Thier judgment hanged on my head, like the sword of Damocles.
A few years later the sword fell. Now after trying to fight my way from poverty, getting in a trade and trying to address some financial issues, I get a letter suing me, at work away from the house I tried to work out something, but I ended up in the court system, with no representation. The arrangement was to pay them, so I had to set up automatic payments.
Thinking that the issue was settled, I continued on my quest to better my life, trying to apply to purchase a home... But, I had to show the mortage agent that I was paying on my judgement. So I contacted the collections dept. And talked to this rude woman, I wish I could remember her name. She told me that I could not get that information, but could only get the contract. A week later, the contract was sent, no letter, not reciept, no house.
Scrambling to find a new place to live, I had to let it go. And now, they return to take me to court. For what, I have no clue.
Word of warning, pls research, and don't make a decision out of despair, steer clear of any school like this that puts you in a position of huge debt and ruin your life.
