I have been looking for a job for several months and on sept 27 i saw a posting on craigslist for a personal assistant job. I thought many people work from home and make money wow i finally found something that might work for me. A person by the name of mrs. Adams responds to my email saying i'm the perfect candidate for the job. She asked for some information such as my name address phone number. I submitted the info she requested and i had the job. She told me she was hard of hearing and she communicated through emails and texts and that she was away in canada and would not be back for 2 weeks.By monday oct 1 at 8am there was a fed ex package on my door no signature required and i opened it and i saw my email and she had send me the package i opened it and it was a check in the amount of $875.00 made out t o me. She then told me it was a donation and that i needed to cash the check and western union the funds to someone in florida whom worked with the fondation. I deposit the check to my account and it cleared the next day. I send it to florida and then she contact me again through yahoo instant messenger and told me that the person whom i send the funds to was in another assignment and that i now had to go back to the western union and ask them to now send it to texas to a different person. I did it. And i asked her is this legal? Because the check is made out to my name. She said yes. I believed her and she said good job and to go home because she needed me in front of a computer. She send me a link and it was a craigslist job add and it had to be paid and she gae me a credit card number along with all the needed info to make a payment the c redit card said declined and she logged off. The next morning i receive another fed ex package and this one had 3 checks made out to me from the same person in the same amount. I deposit it to my account. Now my bank is charging me for those checks because they were no good. This is some kind of scam to get money and we as the "personal assistants" get the short end of the stick. I now felt very skeptical about the whole thing and mentioned it to my husband and he said let's tell her your account is frozen and see what she says. This was prior to my bank charging me and she said this is legit and i'm sorry this happened i told her please fax me a letter stating i work for your foundation and i'm your personal assistant so my bank knows to release the funds she said fine and i've never heard from hr again. I see her logged on to the instant messenger but she refuses to respond to my messages. She is taking advantage of good people who are struggling to get a job and get by. If anyone sees some job posting like this one and she says her name is mrs. Adams is not legit and report her right away. I now have to make a police report and hand it to my bank so i'm not charged. The posting on craigslist says that she pays a salary of $375.00 a week and that every friday morning you will receive a check. She also asked me if i had money to pay for the add she was trying to post on craigslist beware there is some evil person out there trying to get you for your time and money!
