I was on Craigslist about two weeks ago looking for jobs and I was constantly sending out resumes and I got a response back from a guy named Harris Bryant. He said that he owns a real estate business and a art gallery in Australia. He needed someone to do his shopping for him since he was constantly out of town. He said that he would send me a check in the mail and he would want me to go ahead and deposit it directly into my bank account and once that was complete he would email me a set of instructions for what he wanted me to buy. He said he would give me his personal UPS account number so I wouldn't pay anything out of pocket. We only communitcated through email but I do have his phone number. But once I got the check it came with a fishy note too. From a guy named Skyler Graves saying he owed Bryant Harris money and that once I recieved the check to immediately contact Mr. Harris through email at [email protected]. And on the check that I recieved it was a CitiBank check and the name present was Skyler Graves. At first I didn't think anything of it because I am only a 19 year old college student trying to make money. But anyways I waited until Monday because it was a business day and I went in and deposited the check like I was told and the following day I got a notice saying that the check was confirmed fraud and that there were holds on my accounts. I was completely shocked to find out that it was fraud especially since it was a $2,480.00 check. I told my mom and she contacted Wells Fargo and they were punishing me when I didn't know anything about the check being fraud. I even went to the bank to talk about the check because I got a call the day before from a guy who worked at the bank asking me questions if my check i recieved was fraudulant at all, I said that I had no concerns I guess I was wrong. Anyways I was able to get my money out of my savings account because that didn't have a hold but I have to wait ten business days or two weeks before I can get my money out of my checking account. But for the moment Wells Fargo has me under investigation because they think that I made that fraudulant check and they said that for the rest of my life I can never be a customer of Wells Fargo. My mom was pissed she has been a customer of theirs for over 25 years and after this occurance she has pulled all of her seven accounts and she made a huge scene at the bank. Anyways after the check didn't clear I did have the number from the guy who calls himself Harris Bryant or Bryant Harris and so my mom called him and pretty much went off at him for giving me a fraudulant check but one of the questions she asked him was "Do you just try and scam innocent college students?" and he said "As many as I can" My mom asked for his location and he said that he is in Australia yet his cell phone has an area code in San Fransico. She told him that he better stay where he is because all this information is going to the police. I did go to the police station but they said that there was nothing that they could do because its not their juridicition but they did give me this website for the FBI. So I will be in contact with the FBI because I do have connections but all in all I hope that this guy gets caught because he is just going to try and scam as many people as he can. But what I do know is that this guy was hoping that the day that I recieved the check that I was going to deposit it that day because then it would have cleared right away without the bank knowing that it was fraudulant. And if I would have sent out any money before knowing that it was fraudulant then I would already be in prison but I did get good advice from my mom and my girlfriend and I waited so I think that's why I am not in prison or something. But I am going to do my research about this guy and hopefully he gets caught.
