Called Master Charge customer service. They said their internal numbers were down but would like to offer me a $100 shopping gift card (for $3.95). I said OK and gave them my credit card info. Then (!) he said I have to talk with their manager for 'verification'. At that point he said I signed up for a one month trial of some sort of wrinkle remover for $69.95!!! I said just forget it. And that's when they became mean-spirited/belligerent and that they could not stop the credit card charge (for $3.95 $69.95). I asked who they were and he said "Savings to go". I hung up. But they have my info. I immediately called the card company up and canceled my card. TURNS OUT I ORGINALLY DIALED THE WRONG NUMBER FOR MASTER CHARGE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! And these people have taken up the numbers all around the correct phone number for Master Charge Customer Service. So any misdial by a customer calling Master Charge customer service will get to them!!!
