I received this email after responding to a job link. I was interested until I saw they asked me to take a free credit score test which would require my social security number. People, NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE FOR A JOB, NEVER EVER GIVE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER UNTIL YOU HAVE INTERVIEWED IN PERSON AND THEY HAVE OFFERED YOU A CONTRACT TO WORK! I am also very disappointed that there are people who are willing to take advantage of others. We are desperate for jobs, and this just adds salt to the wound. Here is the email I received:

Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills to operate basic administrative duties including responding phones and taking messages, preparing mailings, and ordering supplies. We'll give more specific details in the interview.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: $16 - $20 an hour
Advantages Package: Medical, dental, disability/life insurance, flex medical spending plan, vacation/sick days and 401K
The job will require you to work in a high financial environment so it will be our corporate policy that we perform a financial verification check into all staff to ensure applicant registration info. This was very poorly written with many grammatical and spelling errors. I would think that since you are attempting to scam potential job seekers that you would put a little more effort to make sure your emails appeared at least somewhat professional. This being said, thankfully I was smart enough to conduct minimal research to find that this is indeed a scam. However, others might not be as lucky. Therefore, I have notified the appropriate authorities to this email, your name, email address and to your company name.
On a moral and ethical note, what you have done is not kind, nor is it acceptable. I would only suggest that at some point you take a good look at your heart and how your minimal scam is truly affecting the lives of highly qualified potential employees. We have spent many years and much effort on our degrees and professional experience and do not appreciate being taken for fools. I only pray that no one has succumbed to providing their SSN to complete the credit report.
Shame on you.
