To Whom It May Concerned,
I am writing to you to received help for my ordeal that has taken place over the past several months. I was in the process of purchasing a home/condo that resides on the corner of Beach 62th street off of Rockaway Beach Blvd. The exact address is 194 beach 62th street Unit 42a Arverne, NY 11692 (Wateredge Condominiums. I have never seen the inside of the house / condo, and was told the keys was not available and / or the house need some work before being viewed. I did see a model house on 62th street inside the management office and on April 9th I was told there was a house available to view. The model unit as well as the condo I viewed on April 9th was a single family unit. I did not take the unit I viewed on April 9th, because it seemed very smaller then the condo I was first offered (194 beach 62nd street unit 42a).
On my inspection date July 31 which was the first time I viewed the condo, I was then informed that this was a two family unit. I wanted to buy a single family units at Wateredge. I should have been told before hand that the attended unit I was purchasing was a two family unit. I am a first time home buyer and I have learned after attending the first time homeowners’ classes that I should have been shown the unit I am purchasing before being asking to signed the contract and submitting a down payment. I am writing to you to ask for help, because Wateredge Condominiums is refusing to return my down payment to me.
Thank You in Advance,
Ms. Kathy Yeadon
