I received a text saying that I had won an Apple I-Pad. All I had to do was link to their website and enter the "winning" code they texted me. I did, and was re-directed to the Ziinga website. There I was given the option to sign up, nothing else, and no mention of a prize, or how to claim.
I emailed their contact email from the site and asked for an explanation.
The reply came quickly, and was a denial of any knowledge of the text to me. No prize was offered. They said some third party was sending the texts for no reason.
I was pretty sure that they sent it to draw people to their site, so I searched, and found this site.
After reading a few stories here, I am very happy I didn't bite.
Do we not have laws to deal with scam artiste like this?
Interpol seems real concerned about illegal copyright infringements and downloading, why do we not hear from them?
