I had been getting calls from Bianca Saentz from David McDavid Nissan in Houston, Tx. The calls were to inform me that I had been 'preapproved' for a 24 thousand dollar loan to purchase a new car. I had no way to get to the dealership right away so she called me at least three times, the last time telling me the offer would be withdrawn if I did not come to the dealership. I asked her what preapproved meant and she said I just needed to bring my drivers license, proof of income, and proof of address and I could pick out my car and bring it home. I decided to go to the dealership on Friday, August 24. I had no ride so I left early in the morning and rode the bus as near to the dealership as I could get. I ended up walking several miles before I met a friend of mine at a convenience store and she took me on out to the dealership. Once I was there, Alton Williams, a salesman, met me and took me out to pick out my car. After we had done so, he took all my information and I sat around the dealership for several hours while he 'processed' the information. Finally, he came to me and said he was unable to get the deal approved because the bank had closed for the day and that it would be the next day, Saturday, before I could take my car home. He said he would call me to let me know when it was complete. I said alright and my friend took me most of the way home but I still ended up walking several miles again. I waited all day Saturday for Mr. Williams to call but he did not until finally at around three oclock I called him. He told me he was real busy at the time to give him ten minutes and he would call me back after he checked on the status of my loan. He never called me back and no one at the dealership will take my call or give me any explanation of why I did not get the car I was initially told I was preapproved for. I felt embarrassed, bewildered, and very emotionally and physically drained from the ordeal. I feel the company was and is using deceptive business practices and their shameless involvement in luring people into their dealership with false information is at the least false advertisement and at the most, consumer fraud.
