I believe I am the victim of an online dating scam. After interacting online for about one month with this person who I met through Chemistry.com, he asked to borrow money to help defray costs of an oil rig spill. There were several more requests for additional expenses, then a request for money for an air ticket to the U.S. I sent money on four occasions via Western Union, and once via Money Gram. He gave me a SSN which was supposedly his—I looked it up and it is for someone else with the same name. He has now sent me a bank draft of a check for $1 million dollars, which will be honored if I send 980 GBP. I have shown this draft to my bank and they say it is fraud.
