I was contacted by Shawn Nelson, who represented American Cash Awards as CEO. Like others say, he told me I had won $8.3 million, 2 Mercedes-Benz cars, and gas and insurance for 5 years. This started on April 29. It finished today, with me being totally over my head in debt. This guy is a really good liar and thief.
I was promised 12 times that the process was final. I would wait hours and nothing. I was told once that they were at my address when I wasn't there. I was told at other times that they were 2 blocks away, 2 minutes away, etc. When they didn't show, I would get a call back asking for more money. Excuses were given such as the following: stuck in traffic, held up by the State Police or IRS, pulled back by the company, papers not signed after being told the day before that they were, and others I can't remember at this point. I kept saying to myself that I would never do this again. He always called me "sweetie." The biggest mistake I made was not believing the internet, the police, and my lawyer. I should have hung up every other time, but unfortunately I didn't.
Today, after sending $200.00 yesterday, which was the last I could find, I was told he would find me and shoot me with a gun, or that I had better shoot myself. He keeps calling me even now and leaving nasty messages. He calls me a liar and a thief because I couldn't find more money. The calls still come, but now I hang up.
Beware of the names Shawn Nelson, Tanisha Williams, Damian Hibbert, Ranford Fairclough, Jane Huff, Doris Brown, and Branch Blackwood (a VP). He calls from one number or from a private number that comes from Denver, CO. The other number is his voicemail. Call it and listen. If you get a call, hang up.
