I have been looking for a job for the past year and a half. I found a listing for a recent job opening that sounded just perfect for me at Fontbonne University in St. Louis. I applied, and less than a week after the deadline for application, I got a call from Jane Snyder, who is the acting library director.
She wanted me to come up for an interivew on either Tuesday or Wednesday, September 14 or 15. Since I am currently going back to school right now for lack of a better thing, the only day that's all that good for me for interviews is Fridays, and she said that that seemed like too much of a problem for her staff, and so I told her I could do Wednesday the 15th if I had to. She said she'd call me back and tell me what they decided for an interview date.
Well, on Thursday the 9th, the day before an alternate date I had suggested, I called to see what they had decided. She instead decided not to interview me at all, plus she said she wanted someone who could start immediately, and I told her I would drop all my classes and move to St. Louis and gladly take the job if they hired me, and that I had cleared Wednesday the 15th with the professor for the only class I had that day. None of that made ANY difference with her, and while trying to explain, SHE HUNG UP ON ME!
I wrote a letter and sent it to her explaining my displeasure with her, and also sent copies to her boss and to an attorney friend of ours. I hope and pray that Fontbonne University does the right thing and FIRES Dr. Jane Snyder. The tough time I have had finding another job has already been hard enough without her rudeness. I am therefore posting this to tell all who will read this the kind of rude, lying person she really is.
