Waterworks Repai
Consumer Report

On June 6, we brought our boat in for repairs. The problems were that the engine would not re-start once we were out on the water and that the rub rail had fallen off. We were told someone would look at our boat on June 7 or 8 to estimate costs and then begin repairs. One week went by, and we were told by Christina that no one had looked at the boat. Two weeks went by and we were told no one had looked at the boat. We were then told that the shop was now running two weeks behind (however, this was not the case when we first brought the boat in). ONE MONTH later, and still zero repairs had been made to the boat. I, therefore, went into the shop to get my keys back to take the boat to a different repair shop. I am leaving out the myriad of times Christina told us that someone would be calling us back later in the day (at least 14 times) to let us know what is going on with the boat and not on one single time did that occur. So, I go to pick up the keys and run into Ben, the owner. He somehow convinces me to give them a second chance.

Ben explains that they didn’t have any competent mechanics but have just hired a guy (Brian) who knows what he is doing. Another week goes by and then I am told they need to order and replace the stator. Another week goes by and they’ve had the stator for 5 days and haven’t installed it and I am called and told they need to order a flywheel. On 7/27, I called up there and I am told the boat is ready, except that the rub rail insert is on back order (for almost 2 months, apparently).

I am told we must pay the full bill before taking the keys—I was given no opportunity to test drive the boat to see if the engine problem had been resolved, but I was told by Ben and Brian that it had been. I paid the almost $1800 bill, took the boat out, parked the boat and when I attempted to re-fire the engine, sure enough it did not start—which is the same exact problem we had been having.

I called the shop and they sent an employee out to us (Brian #2) to see what was going on. He said it was obvious there was a leak in the exhaust hose and it needed to be either replaced or tightened. So, we brought the keys back to the repair shop on 7/27. It is now one week later, and no one has even looked at the boat!!!

So, we brought the boat in almost 2 months ago, and the same problems that existed with the boat then still exist now, except that we are $1800 poorer and have not had the use of the boat, but have paid for a wet slip and are making boat payments.

When I called today at 11am to find out the status, Christina told me that Ben was busy and would call me back soon. Three hours later, I called back as (per usual) I had not received a return phone call and Christina screamed at me on the phone to stop calling because they had other customers???!

If they have other customers who have not had their boat repaired in 2 months, my guess is that you will be receiving a lot more of these letters.

At this point, I am needing a refund of the labor dollars I have paid. I would strongly advise the public to never, ever use this company to repair your boat.
