Complaint / Review
Premier Kia Branford, Ct
Consumer Report

I signed an agreement contract to put down $4,500 on a new Optima lease. They changed the down payment from $4,500 to $7,000 without a written acknowledgment or signed agreement.
When I vetoed this rate 3 days later because nobody could adequately explain to me why paying $18,000 over 3 years for this LEASE vehicle and then only have an option to buy it for an unknown price or trade it, with nothing to show for it all, they refused to give me my down payment of $1,000 back (show-of-good-faith down payment on $4,500).
Legal counsel calls this a form of "bait and switch". He said this contract was voided by the dealership when they tagged a new amount onto the presented, signed, agreed upon offer amount.
They never offered any other form of options, i.E., buying this vehicle or any other type of Kia on the lot!
They are now making untruthful claims about what they actually did and di not do.
The sales mgr and some others actually ganged up on and verbally harangued a young man whom I mentioned I knew worked there. They told him he could no longer refer anyone there, that his girlfriend could not buy her car there now and that his actual job was in jeopardy!
What the...?
Sounds like scapegoating and headhunting to me. This kid had nothing to do with my negotiations or their lack of professionalism and common courtesy/common sense!
This dealership, Premier Kia, of Branford, Ct needs to be exposed for the charlatans they are.
A resounding question I can not answer for myself is, if you represent a world-class vehicle with an unprecedented 10yr 100,000 mile warranty (which indicates solid backing) WHY do you need to work dishonestly?
If I were Kia International, I would either replace these sales and managment people or stop providing them with my product (to misrepresent and denigrate the product reputation by their lack of personal ethics)!
They further claim that they went to New Jersey from Ct to pick up this vehicle and then filled it with gas, thus, they say they fulfilled their part of the agreement.
They also say, it is written on the contract "no refund of deposit." On my form it states clearly: deposit $1,000, next line-rebate $1,000; down payment $4,500.
Call it my rebate or agree that this contract was modified without written consent and you have to simply give me that $1,000 back.
Premier Kia refuses to listen, negotiate or work with me in any way—denying me this money back!
$1,000 seems a bit steep for a trip to New Jersey and a tank of gas!
Thanks for anything and everything you can do for me with this!
