It's very simple. Obviously, these people have access to your information, including your personal phone number. They called me, and after a lengthy conversation, and telling ME things about MY situation in terms of what my house is worth now, and what comps are selling for in my area, they promised that they could get my loan reduced. They said they could get it down to approximately 2.5-3% from my current 5%. They emailed many documents for me to e-sign. It all seemed legit. They even told me that I can do for free, what they are doing for me, but that I will not get the results that they can produce. I thought I was smart enough to see through companies that prey on struggling families... Apparently I was not.
