My rip off report is on stores online. My husband and I went to the first workshop were they feed you a free dinner (a coupon that is sent in the mail) together and in that work shop they convince you to attend another work shop a week later were they again offer free breakfast, lunch, and beverages for a cost of thirty dollars. My husband attended this work shop as well.
At the next work shop I did not attend my husband went alone this is when he signed a contract buying an internet store building package equalling $6289.68 with an intrest rate of 18%.
Well at the work shop my husband met with men telling him what a great investment this was, telling him that the only way to finacial freedom is through multiple income. And with 6 web sites he would have six diffrent incomes (he isn't even able to get one web site started). They told him if he didn't have a product to sell on the internet then he would be able to find someone to go into a joint venture with (my husband has contacted around 20 people or buisnesses to joint ventures with they all have declined)
Not only does thier store building packet not work they only give you three days from the time you have purchased it to the day your able to cancel it to find out that it doesn't work (there is no way that in 3 days one is able to contact vendors to see if the company works out).
Now that things are bad and there is no way out of this a man calls with a small bit of hope. He gets my husband and me on the line and asks about our finacial situation we both tell him how much we make a year and what hopes are for the future. I tell him I would to be able to stay home with our kids some day and my husband says that he would like to just add to the family income with this internet buisness. He tells us that with the internet buisness that we will be able to replace my part of the income ($20,000) and match my husbands yearly income as well ($17,000) but we first need to get a few charge cards. This was never mentioned in either of the work shops. Anyway with both of us being young 20 and 21 and newly married of 5 months we are unble to get a charge cards, so right now we are stuck.
We have not recieved a bill as of yet or recieved any phone calls. Our first payment was due on 7-1-04 but there was no bill sent of were to send the payment to. It is now going on 9-1-04 and there still has been no contact. We don't know what is going on because there web site is down and they only have a long distance number listed and we don't have long distance services on our phone to contact them.
Oh the other part I forgot to mention is we wanted to send the package (the getting started papers) back recentley and the company will not accept the package because it needs to have a return number on it and they are the only ones able to issue the number is the company.
