I received an SMS on the 29th May stating that R826.00 had been deducted from my credit card. I reported this to my credit card division who immediately investigated it. I had not authorised a deduction of this value ($99.00), but had earlier in the month purchased vitamins for the amount of R46.00 from a FB ad which was obviously from this company, and they therefore had my details. I have to date not received the vitamins I ordered and they have now deducted this amount from my credit card without my authorisation. My credit card division who investigated the charge, say that there is nothing they can do about the deduction as I had previously ordered from them, and they cannot prove it is fraudulent, and that the "Subscription" has to be cancelled otherwise the deduction will happen on a monthly basis. I have cancelled the card however so this will not happen again, but my bank cannot refund me the deduction. So now I am R826.00 out of pocket and have nothing to show for it. When you access the website given in the SMS, it simply gives a number of contact numbers and nothing else. Surely someone should be looking into this as there seem to be a number of instances of this happening.
