When trying to find out information about the virus my Dell laptop had, there was a number for Dell support which Icalled. The person remotely accessed my computer (I allowed this thinking it was Dell) in order to clean out a bunch of viruses, do a system restore and install antivirus protection. The charge for this was $239.99 with one year of free tech support.By the way, this is also Dell's exact price. After they completed the process, they were on the phone with me while I checked my computer to see my files and they were there. A couple of days ago, I looked and all of my files were gone but my itunes were still there. Yesterday I called them again and spent 5 hours back and forth with them insisting that there were never any files on my computer (that is 3 years old by the way). By the time we were done talking, they basically claimed that it was not their fault. They kept repeating that there are no files on the computer. I kept telling them that there were when they were done and now there isn't. Also, now my itunes are gone as well. I basically have a blank system that I cannot use because of fear that they put spywear on it, Dell offered to fix it for an additional $200 which I can't afford, all of my files are gone, and I am out this money. I also had to cancel my credit card for fear they would continue to charge it.
