My contractor bought and installed a Rheem classic series Super Quiet 80 Model RGPN07EAMER which is advertised for closets; basically small spaces. This was installed in a closet right near my kitchen/dining room area. It sounds like a jet engine. It's just so awful. Obviously, if not advertised as "super quiet" this gas furnace would not have been purchased. Did call Rheem and they called me back. Basically denied anything would be wrong. Spoke with a Christy Lynn at 1-479-648-4900. She wanted my contractor's name and number. This certainly has nothing to do with him; it's about their product. I have since had three HVAC people in to look at it and they concurred that this was not a system for a closet and it is extremely loud. The only thing to do is to replace it with a quieter system.
