As a parent I began watching Disney Channel children programming with my daughter back in the mid 1990's. At first I considered the preschool and young children programs to be basically benign yet open to new age ideals and non-christian teachings to undermine the Judeo/Christian values that are held by over 80% of American families. Gradually I realized that our children were being inundated with the idea that black magic, new age and extreme secular themes were being pushed on our children at every angle. Disney showed prepubescent children dealing with adult issues. Holidays and their extreme secular variations were the only aspect of American family life we were allowed to view. I am sorry but if you are going to teach my child that "Mother Earth", animals and inaminate objects have souls, bodies and names, A beautiful, loving and perfect higher power should be given equal billing. Some problematic ideals being shoved down our children's throats included, "whatever you want to do in your life is OK, as long as you don't hurt anyone when you do it." During a dance number by pre-teens, the gyrating of hips and placing hands as close to one's crotch without blatantly doing so are just some minor memories that come to mind. Disney, you should climb out of your ivory tower and truly engage with your basic, hard working, God believing, English speaking families. The minorities having you running scared and I fear that our negative and numerous cultural failings are largely occuring because of what you regularly feed our children. We, as a family, did watch Disney, although I must admit that both my child, her cousins and friends and I found ourselves less and less entertained by your politicl garbage, including poorly researched enviormental education projects and the constant "fairy tale" aka inappropriate language, black magic ideals and materialism being important to all ages, preschool and beyond. I found it neccessary to explain differences in our core values and morals verses the half baked, secular scripts that had children believing that extreme enviromental and new age spiritual ideas were the norm. The only positive thing I can say is, you are less damaging to our American Judeo/Christian value system than Nick Jr. Is.
Please consider polling fewer well lobbied minorities and begin to open your think tanks to the basic teaching of Natural Law.
