Regarding the Ruby Tuesday restaurant at 65 Son-Lan Parkway Garner, NC 27529
My husband and I have often enjoyed meals in the past at Ruby Tuesday when traveling to Florida. Recently we noticed a location close to our residence that had a sign in the window advertising "complimentary salad bar". We went out of our way last night, May 15, to drive through a torrent of rain to eat at that location. When we ordered burgers, we were told that the salad bar is an additional $2.99. We ordered burgers with French fries and sliced tomatoes. The cost was just about $10.00 per person. 25 minutes later we asked the hostess to check on our orders_I'm not sure what happened to the server. She came back with the dishes. The burgers were average in size and the serving of fries almost invisible, maybe 15 small fries. After we waited about 20 minutes, the rain halted and another couple came in and sat at the table beside us. About 10 minutes later, the couple was served their entree, small burgers with fries. Why the discrepancy in wait time?
What has happened to Ruby Tuesday? First of all, I consider the sign in the window to be false advertising. It doesn't say "complimentary salad bar with all entrées except burgers". Second, there were few people coming into the location during the rainstorm; so why was the wait 25 minutes? Third, what we were served was hardly worth $10. I've had much better burgers with fries served immediately for under $5 at a variety of fast food restaurants and some very delicious and amply-portioned for around $6-7 in many local sit-down restaurants. After all, French fries are hardly expensive side dish alternatives like asparagus, so why not give customers something for their $10?
We have no reason ever to go back to a Ruby Tuesday anywhere.
